We had a successful drop down day on January 29th. The day was supported by 21 Business Ambassadors from various organisations in the North East along with Carole Richards from Northumberland Education Business Partnership.
The students worked in house teams comprising vertical groups. Throughout the day the Business Ambassadors set challenges and tasks to encourage enterprise and entrepreneurship. The aim of the day was for students to participate in manufacturing simulations and set up their own companies. The intended outcome for the day was that the students will develop their team and communication skills as well as raising employability skills and financial awareness.
- Termly photography competition- the first deadline is Friday December 11 with 3 prizes of £5 WH Smith tokens
- Art and Stem (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) theme
- First term’s themes are either:
- Colour and Light
- Plants and Trees
- Food- healthy/unhealthy

Many thanks to all of the parents and carers that attended our Curriculum, Assessment & Reporting Changes event on Thursday the 22nd of October.
The feedback from parents has been excellent and a number of parents that were unable to attend have been in touch to see if they can access some of the resources shared on the evening.

The Three Rivers Teaching School Alliance delivers school-based teacher training programmes for both primary and secondary phases via the School Direct route.

Congratulations to the overall winners of the Monthly Photography Competition.
They received fantastic art packs, including sketching pencils, watercolours, brushes and sketch pads.

On Wednesday 8 July, Strutt & Parker hosted the final showcase of their 40 shortlisted entrants and revealed the winner and runners up of the competition.
Congratulations to:
- Sophie Thomson (Y10 at KEVI) who won first place for her acrylic on canvas painting of Morpeth Clock Tower. She was awarded a £100 Amazon voucher.
- Well done also to Caitlin Scott (Y10 at KEVI) and Danny Lilico (Y8 at Chantry) who were the runners-up, winning £50 Amazon vouchers each.
- Furthermore, 6 students were awarded a highly commended award (£10 Amazon voucher) and these were Thea Viernes and Maddy Stewart (Newminster), Leon Smith and Michael Smart (Chantry) and Phoebe Hoggan and Emily Brannigan (KEVI).
