Charlotte Jones, CurriculumĀ Leader for the Creative Arts at the school said, “Angels are symbols of love, hope and strength and we hope that these will provide some extra Christmas smiles as the children and staff spot the Angels around us.”

Newminster Middle School – Christmas Jumper Day – Friday 11th December

27th November 2020Sarah Hall

We would like to invite pupils to come to school on Friday 11th December 2020 wearing their Christmas jumper (all other uniform items apart from jumpers should remain the same). There will be a voluntary contribution of £1 for this non-uniform day with all proceeds going to Save the Children.

There is no need to buy a new jumper for this, how about swapping with a friend, decorating a jumper you already have with tinsel and baubles or wearing one from last year?

This is the best bit… by doing this we are raising money to change the future of children all over the world by making a positive difference to their lives.

Let’s get sparkly and Merry Christmas from all of us here at Newminster Middle School.

Friday 13th November – ‘ChildrenĀ inĀ NeedĀ 2020’

16th November 2020Sarah Hall

Pudsey Art Show!

For this year’s ‘Children in Need’ Newminster Middle School in Morpeth, who have been recently awarded Artmark Platinum for the second time in a row, came together on Friday 13th November to produce a Pudsey Art show!

Although the whole school community couldn’t be together in person at the moment due to COVID19, their art could be on show as one united unit.

Each student and staff member in school created a piece of art for the exhibition (models, painting, sketches, baking, bunting, gem art, jewellery, textiles, lego, digital images) which covered the school hall using the theme of friendship, care, Children in Need, Pudsey and charity.

In addition to theĀ art show they held a Pudsey themed non-uniform day to raise money for the charity with a raffle of a Pudsey themed hamper for this fantastic charity!

Findings from recent research shows that right now the coronavirus pandemic is having a huge impact on the mental health and well-being of UK children, and for those who were already facing disadvantages, life has become incredibly difficult. It has never been more important that Children in Need can keep funding life changing projects and charities, providing crucial services for vulnerable children and young people through this crisis.
