As part of National School Meals Week, we are celebrating the Great British School Lunch on Thursday 12th November. The menu is packed with all your British favourites. Please see the attached menu and please remember to preorder your child’s lunch.

Northumberland Library has a digital library that can be accessed all the time. It contains eBooks and eAudiobooks for both adults and children. In the current climate it has proved to be popular with our library members and we would like to try and make more people aware of this free service. If people are not members, they can join online at the library website and get access straight away without having to come into the library to collect their card.

The portal for applying for Middle School places in Northumberland is now open and closes on Saturday 31st October 2020. As you will be aware, Newminster and Chantry Middle Schools work closely together and are both popular and oversubscribed schools. We would therefore strongly advise that you indicate both schools, in your order of preference, on your application form.

It has been confirmed to us today that there has been a positive case of COVID-19 within the school. 

We have been in contact with Public Health England and have followed all their advice in relation to the case.  We are continuing to monitor the situation and will communicate any further information we receive. 

The small number of students who have been in direct prolonged contact with the confirmed case have been contacted and have also received an individual letter. They will be staying at home for 14 days.

The school remains open and your child should continue to attend if they remain well and you have not been informed that they are one of the close contacts.

Please be assured that the school continues to take all advised precautions to prevent transmission of the virus for the safety of our staff and students.
