Our annual Open Day and Evening took place on Wednesday 1st October.
It was great to see so many parents and students visiting the school and the day was incredibly positive.
We hope to see many of you again very soon.

A Macmillan coffee morning was held on Friday 26th September. Students did themselves proud and brought in a huge range of cakes and biscuits that they had made. We had an extended morning break and raised almost £240 in just 25 minutes! A cheque has now been forwarded to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Thank you – you’re amazing!

Last year, as part of the Bronze Arts Award, students from Chantry and Newminster in Year 8 have been working collaboratively to create 4 large murals to go up in the school grounds. Dulux have funded the project through Groundwork North East.
Each board represents a spiritual, moral, social, and cultural theme. The students developed their ideas together and used the Dulux weathershield paints with imagination.
The current Arts Award group are busy designing boards for Chantry, using different interpretations of SMSC:
Cultural – ‘My design represents different countries and cultures interacting in a modern, technological world’ Emma Loughnane, Chantry
Moral – ‘I was inspired by Michelangelo’s hands for my own design. I have used lightening to show the connection between people’ Kate Seymour, Chantry
Congratulations to everyone who took part in the sponsored walk on Friday 19th September. A staggering 4423 laps of the course were completed and an even more impressive £2400 raised, allowing us to make a £1000 donation to the Paediatric Unit at the RVI – one of the largest single donations that the school has ever made.
Thank you to everyone for their efforts and hard work!
