joy of making music together, and peer teach each other. Within an ensemble students make friends with like-minded musicians and forge deep, long lasting
relationships.

approx 1 mile [1600m]. Registration opens near the clock tower from 9.30 am. Open to all children at First or Middle Schools, Year 8 and below. It is recommended that those aged 6 or under are accompanied on the run.

Newminster Middle School is immensely proud and very excited to announce that for the second year running, we have reached the final of Poetry By Heart. This is a National competition, which attracts thousands of entries. The challenge is for pupils across the country, aged between 7 to 18 years old, to learn a poem ‘by heart’ and through performance and interpretation, deliver it in their own unique way.

Mondays Family Archery Starts on 9th of May
Sessions from 5-6pm, these are open for juniors, adults and families . After nearly a decade of running a popular community club with regular sessions, we had to stop due to coronavirus. It has been a hard and continuous journey to get this club back up and running, we had problems to find and secure a suitable venue. It seems that we now found a place and we are very excited to announce this club again! Sessions will commence from May but bookings are open now.
Mondays Thor’s Thrills Team Starts on 9th of May
This activity will run weekly from 9.30 am to 12 noon – Adult Only Activities. This programme will see us mainly doing paddle sports (Canoeing, Kayaking and Stand Up Paddle Boarding) but as the group progresses, occasionally this might be extended to a longer session/activity especially to get out and further afield from home play spots and once a month we will get to try a different activity like climbing, abseiling, hill walking, cycling to name a few. All equipment will be provided. Sing up to the club membership emails and communications to know what is happening next!
Wednesdays Climbing Club Starts on 4th May
Climbing Club 5-6 and or 6-7pm. These sessions are suitable for Juniors of the age of 5 years old up to adults of any age. This is a great opportunity to get to try on climbing indoors and learn basic climbing skills, safety, usage of climbing equipment. get fit and even train to compete, We had in the past a number of youth competing on the Youth climbing series and some did that well that qualified to compete in the a National championship finale at Ratho Edinburgh.
Fridays Paddle Sports Club Starts on 29th April
Paddle Sport Club 3:45 pm to 4:50 pm and or 4:55 to 6pm. Come and have fun while developing water sports confidence and skills. During these courses and sessions you will be able try and develop your abilities in a number of crafts to include canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding. Recognised paddle sport certificates can be gained in completion of achievements.
