We collected a superb £278.06 to support the work of Book Aid International in getting books to children in parts of the world that have none. Thank you for supporting this worthwhile charity.
Students were invited to celebrate World Book Day by dressing up as a character from a book. There were so many excellent costumes, it was quite difficult to choose the winners. In the end, a record seventeen students each won a novel and all the rest earned five class points each!
Mr Stink and his dog (alias Dominic Marshall) and The Iron Man (James Mullen, we believe) each won an additional book prize of their choice for the most effort put into a costume. Well done boys!
Enormous thanks to Aimee Reid and Bethany Matthews in Year 6 for patiently naming every one of 1,015 World Book Day tokens so everyone in each school could be sure of getting one. You are heroines, girls!
