We are working with a local charity called Making Winter Warmer and in DLE last week, some of Year 8s made digital images to raise awareness of homelessness.
Congratulations to Liam Day, 7R, for winning Into Film’s Review of the Week competition.
As part of the National Youth Film Festival, a group of Year 7s went to see the stop motion animation film ‘The Boxtrolls’ at the Vue Cinema in Cramlington as part of their DLE.
Back at school the students were involved in a range of activities related to the film which included writing a review of the film via the Into Film website.
Into Film have awarded Liam with a Review of the Week for his review. He will be sent some goodies from Into Film which will be presented to him during a KS3 assembly.
You can read Laim’s review on the Into Film website here.
As part of their DLE programme, 7A are continuing their visit to East Riding Care Home.
Students develop their skills of empathy and care, as well as having the opportunity to talk to people from different generations.
New friendships have been formed and the students have really enjoyed organising various activities for those living at the centre.
Well done 7A!
